From 2000....
Guitarist extraordinaire Gary Lucas has known Walter Horn since they were kids together in Syracuse, New York, back in the early 60s. They’ve collaborated occasionally too: both on film music (see Gary’s "Skeleton at the Feast" on the Enemy label for excerpts of a live performance of their soundtrack to the silent film "The Golem"), and even - back in their college days - on a classical opera based on "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari." In between these tributes to old horror flicks, Gary has done much more than play impossible guitar parts in Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band. He’s put out a long string of diverse solo and group recordings that have been acclaimed by critics not only for technical skill but for inventiveness, sophistication and emotional range. A retrospective of his work on Knitting Factory Works appeared shortly after this discussion. He and Walto got together in 2000 (for the first time in a several years) to lay down some tracks for Lucas's "Street of Lost Brothers" (Tzadik) and Horn's "Sadhana" (Saxophonis).

Posted by: lukaz at November 19, 2004 5:10 PMWhy do people bring up personal gossip-shit like this here? I just hope that we could look at all the positive aspects of each other and not just get stuck in to the negative ones.
Om Shanti
